From lighthouse to mountain and back to the sea

Hiking is one of the most powerful ways to experience South Cape. Trails are accessible year-round, mostly snow-free, and range from gentle walks to dramatic coastal routes.

Some of our favourites:

  • Lindesnes Lighthouse Coastal Trail
Choose anything from a 30-minute stroll to a four-hour hike around Norway’s southernmost point. Constant ocean views, wild cliffs and open horizons.

  • Skrelia, Lyngdal
A rare highland landscape in the south. Forests, panoramic views, mountain lakes – and a spectacular waterfall cascading hundreds of metres down the mountainside.

  • Farsund Coastal Trail
From Varnes Lighthouse to Lomsesanden (approx. 9 hours in total). Can be walked in sections. Dramatic rock formations in the west, long white beaches towards the east.
