Lomsesanden
Set within a state-protected nature reserve, Lomsesanden offers a rare kind of luxury — one defined by space, silence, and a deep connection to nature.
This is Norway’s only campsite located in a protected natural area, where the landscape itself takes centre stage and guests are invited to slow down and truly be present.
Here, the beach stretches into a network of some of Norway’s most beautiful coastal trails, and even at the height of summer it is always possible to find a quiet shoreline of your own. With minimal light pollution, open horizons, and the constant rhythm of the sea, Lomsesanden is shaped by calm rather than comfort.
Accommodation ranges from beautifully furnished glamping tents with fire pits for sunset evenings, to small cabins, or space for your own tent or motorhome.
Guests are encouraged to explore the surrounding landscape. Bicycles — both traditional and electric — are available for hire, along with kayaks and SUP boards for paddling through the archipelago to nearby Loshavn, one of Norway’s most charming historic harbours, just minutes from the beach. Surf courses are offered for those drawn to the open sea, while others may choose simply to walk, swim, and rest.
Food is simple, honest, and rooted in place. Freshly baked goods and good coffee are served each morning, and in the afternoon and evening the scent from the wood-fired pizza oven fills the air — serving what many consider the best pizza in the region.
As part of the South Cape Collection, Lomsesanden represents a shared belief in Nordic luxury: time over excess, authenticity over formality, and experiences shaped by nature, sustainability, and a genuine respect for the landscape. Open from April to mid-September, it is a place where light, quiet, and nature are allowed to lead.
